Whether it’s punk rock, gothic or grunge… Alternative rock has undoubtedly influenced the fashion world. Accessories and add-ons can be most anything you’d find in a junk drawer or yarn shop.
Short shorts with handprints on each cheek at the rear or painted on jeans whose print resembles tattoos; or Zebra stretch pants in purple, purple ribbons and braided yarn in your hair. A tight black corset/bodice, ripped fishnet coverings on your arms, black choker with a cross hanging from the front and another cross on a long chain around your neck plus rings, junk bracelets, handbag, bangles and bobbles. Black nail polish, lipstick and eyeliner and short chopped bangs. An eyebrow, nose or lip piercing is optional as well as colored contacts to match your color scheme. Top it all off with some black leather lace up platform boots that would put Kiss to shame or matching (or not) leopard print heels… That’s what little girls are made of; at least in the world of alternative rock inspired fashions.
Tight, practically painted on black jeans that crinkle and twist down the legs held up by a studded belt; a torn (or not) tee shirt with an old retro logo on it and tattoos (tweedy bird and other similar tattoos don’t count). Sweat pants and/or cargos with multiple pockets, studs, zippers and chains are allowable and FYI… The cargos are the only pants that are allowed to brush to ground. All others must fit tightly around your ankles to meet the funkiest high top sneakers you can find with crazy wild colors. Add a hoodie sweat shirt and dark glasses. Feel free to borrow your girlfriend’s black nail polish and lipstick because you’re going to need it. You can probably trade off earrings, bracelets and chokers as well. Optional are facial piercings and nipple piercings (ouch).
And that’s what little boys are made of…. I think.
